Intraoral scanning is a wonderful tool for implant restorations and, in some essence, slightly easier than a crown prep to scan. There are no awkward deep margins to capture and they are generally cleaner scans due to the nature of the surgical procedure up to this point.

What we need from you is a clear and accurate scan of all of the reference points on the scanbody. This is usually a flat spot or a hexed area, depending on your scanbody of choice. We also require a scan of the implant/gingiva sight without the scanbody. Alongside these scans, we always need to have an accurate bite/occlusal scan. 

With any case, the more information you give us, the smoother the case is for all involved. 

Using an intraoral scanner for your implant restoration enables you to send the scan and have us check over it in real time while the patient is in the chair, should you wish.
