Job Summary
Background
Stephen began his career in 1975 and was learning his craft at a time when every restoration was crafted by hand. Specialising in crown and bridge work, he built a reputation for precision, attention to detail, and producing restorations that looked natural and functioned beautifully. Those early years shaped his belief that, while technology can improve the process, true quality will always depend on the skill and judgement of the technician.
When digital dentistry started to grow in the early 2000s, Stephen recognised its potential immediately. Instead of avoiding change, he embraced it, investing in new digital scanners, milling systems, and CAD/CAM software while the technology was still very much new and developing. Through a combination of decades of practical experience and digital tools, he helped deliver more accurate, consistent, and predictable restorations in everyday laboratory practice.
Areas of expertise
Over the years, Stephen has developed a particular passion for implant prosthetics and has become highly regarded for his work on complex cases. From full-arch restorations and hybrid prostheses to advanced screw-retained solutions, he has helped clinicians tackle some of their most challenging treatments.
With his expertise in angled screw channel technology, plus years of practical experience and digital design skills, he is able to create restorations that are functional and natural-looking. It’s this combination of technical knowledge and collaborative approach that has made Stephen a trusted partner for implant surgeons and restorative dentists alike.
Work with GoDigital Dental
Stephen has worked closely with GoDigital Dental to build a laboratory focused on innovation, collaboration, and using digital technology in the right way. The lab reflects his belief that the future of dentistry comes from combining modern workflows with clear communication, and a commitment to always improving how things are done together as a partnership.
Under his guidance, GoDigital Dental has grown their proficiency in a number of areas, including:
- Fully digital crown, bridge, and implant workflows
- Precision CAD/CAM design and milling
- Advanced implant prosthetics
- Screw-retained solutions
- Digital smile design
Working closely with clinicians throughout the treatment journey helps the team deliver accurate and consistent restorations that are tailored to each patient’s needs.
Stephen’s approach brings together the craftsmanship and attention to detail built over decades with the possibilities offered by modern technology, creating a laboratory that is progressive, personal, and focused on achieving the very best outcomes.
Ongoing professional development
Beyond his work as a technician, Stephen is passionate about education and helping the next generation of dental technicians. Through mentoring, training programmes, and international initiatives, he has helped pass on knowledge, encourage new talent, and improve access to modern digital workflows.
Today, Stephen’s career reflects the evolution of dentistry itself, from traditional craftsmanship to advanced digital laboratory solutions. As an innovator, mentor, and trusted partner, he continues to champion the role of technology, skill, and thoughtful design in improving patient care.
